KIBOGA, FEBRUARY 1, 2020 – Leprome Plantation Forest directors Ambrose Promise and Dr Cathy Biira joined workers and well wishers in dance as they could not hide the joy of marking a first decade of team work, hard work, sweat and hope.

Leprome Plantation Forest marked 10 years with a Holy Mass, baptism and graduation party – all signaling the start of a new era, a new birth and new hope for all its stakeholders.

The St. Felista Parish Kiboga Priest Fr Ronald Ssevume, the area Local Council Chairperson, officials from neighboring plantation forests hailed the added value the forest has brought to the lives of the residents of Kiboga.

Director Ambrose Promise hailed the leadership and teamwork exhibited by the Leprome Manager Christopher Kamulegeya, who also celebrated his recent graduation.

He awarded the best employees and promised that the forest was now entering the stage of ‘harvesting’ and diversifying its activities that will benefit everyone in the forest and its surrounding.

The Leprome Plantation Forest is a 200+ hectare forest investment in the middle of Uganda – 120 km north west of the capital Kampala.

It now has young mainly Pine trees 1 to 10 years old, but by the time the trees mature, the project will be a fully fledged eco-tourist centre providing lodging, playing parks, trekking and hill climbing. It is the brain-child of Mr and Mrs, Ambrose Promise and Cathy Biira Promise who leased it from the Uganda Forest Authority. It is now fully reforested.
